Last night, 12 million Time Warner customers and 22 million Comcast customers were able to watch the launch of Revolt TV at 8 p.m EST. A television network that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been promising music lovers for the past year. The television channel will bring music news and videos to generation who only knows MTV has a reality television station, rather than its acronym Music Television.
The president of Bad Boy has paired with Keith Clinkscales, who helped VIBE come into fruition and has spent years developing content for ESPN. That is not the only heavy hitter Combs has on his team. He has also enlisted Andy Schuon, who was the former programming president of MTV and will be the president of Revolt TV. These three will make quite the team to come up with the perfect formula to get viewers to tune into the new station.
By the looks of twitter, it looks like the three have found that perfect formula. After all, the average tweeter is the perfect consumer Revolt TV is reaching out to and their reviews are anything but censored.
Will this new music television brand surpass the pioneers, BET, MTV and VH1? We’ll have to wait and see.
